Experience
- His most relevant professional career spanned 35 years at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he worked as a teacher in the areas of Leadership and Strategic Planning at the undergraduate, graduate and executive education levels, especially in management positions:
- General Director of the Saltillo, Sonora Norte, León and Guadalajara Campuses of ITESM (1990-2006).
- Rector of the Western Zone of ITESM, which includes the states of Sonora, Sinaloa, Jalisco, Colima, Guanajuato and Querétaro. (2006-2012)
- Rector of the South Central Zone of ITESM, which includes the Metropolitan Zone of Mexico City, State of Mexico, Puebla, Morelos, Hidalgo, Veracruz and Chiapas (2012-2016).
- Vice President of the Campuses of Tecnológico de Monterrey, with national responsibility for the 26 Campuses (2016-2018).
- In his experience as a university director, he led and actively participated in various projects of educational innovation, linkage and technology transfer, as well as in the participation of councils of citizen organizations, in various regions of the country and abroad, highlighting:
- Design and implementation of Educational Models focused on students and the development of their skills and knowledge, supported by technological platforms.
- Creation and operation of Educational Programs abroad, especially in China, the United States, Canada and Eastern Europe.
- University-enterprise technology transfer and linkage projects with large international companies, as well as for small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Creation of 5 Technology and Innovation Parks in several states.
- Regional Development and Grand Vision Projects, as well as Attractive Cities in several states of the country.
- His responsibilities included the sustainable operation and academic quality of the ITESM campuses, as well as the relationship with the Regional Councils that sponsor Tecnológico de Monterrey and the representation of the Institute before various academic, research, social and governmental organizations.
- He has been a professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey at the undergraduate, master's and executive education levels in Leadership, Family Business and Innovation.
His current field of academic and consulting expertise is Leadership and Innovation. - After a successful 35-year career at Tecnológico de Monterrey, he decided to retire to pursue long-desired professional projects of social impact and contribution to the development of the country.
- In December 2018 he was appointed Secretary of Innovation Science and Technology of the Government of the State of Jalisco, whose responsibilities are: Definition and implementation of public policies to promote Business Innovation, the strengthening of the State Scientific and Technological Research system and the governance of Higher Education.
- He has actively participated in social benefit organizations and philanthropy projects in each of the communities where he has developed professionally.
