VSMA Framework

The VSMA Framework is the framework that regulates the lifecycle of official university degrees and, in Catalonia, is defined by AQU Catalunya to ensure their quality, continuous improvement, and transparency. It integrates the processes of verification, monitoring, modification, and accreditation within a continuous evaluation model.

Official degrees at Euncet Business School are managed according to the VSMA Framework and its Internal Quality Assurance System, ensuring compliance with Catalan, national, and European quality standards, in line with the ESG of the European Higher Education Area.

The Verification process evaluates bachelor’s and master’s degrees before the start of teaching to ensure their official validity, academic soundness, organizational feasibility, and resource availability.

Institutions prepare the Verification Report, which contains essential information about the degree (learning objectives, learning outcomes, access and admission, academic planning, methodologies, assessment, and resources). AQU Catalunya evaluates this report, and if the assessment is favorable, the degree is verified. Subsequently, the Generalitat of Catalonia authorizes the degree, and the Council of Ministers establishes its official status and registration in the RUCT.

Monitoring is a process of evaluation of verified degrees that analyzes data, indicators, and evidence to assess their actual performance and identify areas for improvement. It allows deviations from the initial design to be detected, academic results, satisfaction, employment outcomes, and resources to be analyzed, and improvement actions to be proposed when necessary.

In bachelor’s degrees, at least two monitoring evaluations are conducted within six years, and in master’s degrees, at least one within four years. The process is documented in a monitoring report, which is a prerequisite for processing any modification of the degree.

The Modification process allows changes to official degrees based on evidence obtained during monitoring and analysis of their performance. Modifications must be justified, and each degree can only process one modification per academic year.

Modifications can be non-substantial (minor improvement changes) or substantial. The latter can be authorizable, when they affect the structure without altering the nature or objectives of the degree, or non-authorizable, when they modify its nature or objectives, which requires a new verification and the termination of the implemented degree.

The Accreditation process ensures that official degrees are developed according to the initial project and that any modifications made are justified and documented, allowing their continuity as official degrees. At Euncet Business School, it is a key part of continuous improvement.

Accreditation is carried out within six years from verification or the last accreditation for bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and integrates all information generated in the VSMA cycle. It includes internal and external evaluation and culminates with the issuance, by AQU Catalunya, of certificates and, if applicable, the corresponding accreditation seals.
