Euncet Business School brings together more than 80 academics at the first congress on applied artificial intelligence in Terrassa
Terrassa Tech 25 has held its first edition in two days full of presentations on technology in areas such as finance, health or education, among others.

The Campus Terrassa of Euncet Business School hosts the first congress on applied artificial intelligence in the city of Terrassa. This is the first edition of Terrassa Tech, which was held on May 14 and 15 in two days attended by more than 80 internationally recognised academics and experts in areas of study such as business, marketing, finance, logistics, Smart Cities, audiovisual and health.
The event, organised in collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPC), Decision Science Alliance and ICSO, as well as sponsored by the Terrassa City Council and Terrassa Universitària, featured an institutional presentation in which all the invited speakers and the General Chairs of the congress were present: the Director of the Euncet Business School university centre, Dr. Carles Josep Bonet i Revés, the UPV professor Àngel A. Juan, the Director of Projects and Research Support of Euncet, Alfons Freixes, and the professor and coordinator of the MUADE and the Master's in Finance at Euncet, Víctor Gallego.
"Optimising is not the same as thinking," Bonet said during his speech, in which he made it clear that the goal of AI should be to help people "understand the world, adapt to new situations and collaborate with other people." For his part, the 5th Deputy Mayor of the City Projection Area, Joan Salvador, stressed that the meeting is "a national event" around a tool that "will mark our immediate future". In addition, he stressed the importance of holding congresses like this one in Terrassa, headquarters of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (an institution to which Euncet Business School has been attached since 1996).
Both days kicked off with the presentations of the guest keynote speakers, Dr. Paula Carroll (University College Dublin) and Dr. Renatas Kizys (Southampton University). Dr. Carroll presented her paper Opportunities of Business Analytics & AI to Contribute to Sustainable Development Goals, while Dr. Kizys presented his paper Intelligent Finance: Trends and Future Directions. Both his observations and those of the rest of the invited academics were a preview of what could become a benchmark congress in the Catalan and Spanish sphere.
